Each leak preventing barrier is provided with a free-end section elastic member, i.e. an elastic member which is attached in an extended state to a free-end section of the leak preventing barrier and which extends in the longitudinal direction. Each connecting member has a first joint member joined to a side-edge section of a front-side region and/or a side-edge section of a rear-side region, and is joined to an outer surface of the leak preventing barrier. Joint intermediate sections (41) of each connecting member span from sections joining the connecting members and the side-edge sections, extend to inner sides in the longitudinal direction and inner sides in the transverse direction, and reach sections of the disposable nappy joining the connecting members and the leak preventing barriers. The joint intermediate sections (41) are not joined to any constituent element of the disposable nappy.
