A method of growing grapes utilises a trellis arrangement. Trellis arrangements are used by vineyards and comprise posts to hold a series of wires in an elevated fashion. The wires are used for supporting vines as they grow. In some vineyards, the trellis arrangement comprises wires which attach to the posts directly and can be difficult to remove to facilitate pruning the vines. The invention discloses a method of growing grapes comprising fitting a plurality of sleeves to a plurality of grapevine supporting posts such that each post has more than one of the sleeves which are spaced from one another. Each sleeve engages a respective one of the posts by way of fixing means, each sleeve supports at least one retainer clip, and the clips are engaged with and support grapevine support wires. After harvesting grapes, the wires are mechanically removed from the clips without removing sleeves from the posts, parts of the grape vine that remain with the wires when the wires are removed are pruned, and the wires are reattached to the clips for further use.
