Disclosed is a tetrahydroquinoline compound of formula II, III, IV, V, or VI and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds where the substituents are as in the specification. Examples of compounds are Ethyl 4-(2-(4-( 4-(2-oxo-1 ,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolin-7-yloxy)butyl)piperazin-1-yl)phenoxy)butanoat hydrochloride N-(3-( 4-(2-methoxyphenyl)piperazin-1-yl)propyl)-2-oxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline-7 -carboxamide and (2-oxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolin-7-yl)methyl 3-(4-(2-methoxyphenyl)piperazin-1-yl)propanoate hydrochloride. Also disclosed is the use of the compounds for the manufacture of a medicament for treating psychoses, schizophrenia, acute manic, bipolar disorder, autistic disorder and depression.
