The X-ray imaging system includes a support platform configured to support an object to be imaged and a digital X-ray imaging detector configured to receive incident radiation that has passed through the object, the X-ray imaging detector including a flexibility that permits the X-ray imaging detector to conform to a surface of the support platform, the X-ray imaging detector including a thickness of less than about four millimeters.
