A hair cosmetic composition which contains the components (A)-(C) described below so that the mass ratio of the component (A) to the component (C), namely (A)/(C) is from 3 to 200 (inclusive) and the mass ratio of the component (B) to the component (C), namely (B)/(C) is more than 1 but 100 or less. (A) A mono-long chain alkyl type cationic surfactant that has one alkyl group having 18-24 carbon atoms in an amount of from 0.05% by mass to 15% by mass (inclusive) (B) A di-long chain alkyl type cationic surfactant that has two alkyl chains having 10-18 carbon atoms in an amount of from 0.01% by mass to 5% by mass (inclusive) (C) A mono-long chain alkyl type cationic surfactant that has one alkyl group having 12-17 carbon atoms
