There is provided herein microwave distillation systems, and are used to heating food product into the method for example to pasteurization and/or sterilising temp using microwave distillation system. Additionally provide the food product for being formulated for handling in microwave method for destructive distillation. In one aspect, microwave distillation system includes the microwave region with one or more microwave temperature sections, wherein liquid medium maintains at sterilising temp temperature below during microwave treatment. Product is heated to pasteurization or sterilising temp by method described herein and system, while preventing product (including outer surface) from reaching the temperature greater than 135F. Microwave method for destructive distillation and system advantageously provide such product, the taste and organoleptic properties and identical freshly prepared product in other respects that the product has are of equal value or almost of equal value, and are significantly better than the food product identical in other respects for having undergone conventional submergence or saturated vapor method for destructive distillation.
