The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising Aster yomena extracts or fractions thereof as active ingredients for preventing or treating inflammatory diseases due to inhibition of the expression of COX-2, inhibition of the expression of iNOS, and inhibition of the NO formation. The Aster yomena extracts, or the fractions thereof of the present invention are derived from natural materials which have been used for a long time as a natural medicinal product to have no side effects, and since the Aster yomena extracts, or the fractions thereof have excellent effects of inhibiting the expression of COX-2 and iNOS, which are inflammation-related factors, inhibiting the activity of NF-κB, which is known as an inflammation-related transcription factor, and inhibiting NO formation to be usefully used in the prevention or treatment of the inflammatory diseases.본 발명은 쑥부쟁이(Aster yomena) 추출물, 또는 이의 분획물을 유효성분으로 포함하는, COX-2의 발현 저해, iNOS의 발현 저해, 및 NO 생성 저해에 의한, 염증성 질환의 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 쑥부쟁이(Aster yomena) 추출물, 또는 이의 분획물은 오랫동안 천연약재로 사용되어온 천연물에서 유래되어 부작용이 없으면서도, 염증관련 인자인 COX-2와 iNOS의 발현을 억제하고, 염증 관련 전사인자로 알려진 NF-κB의 활성을 저해하고, NO 생성을 억제하는 효과가 우수하므로, 염증성 질환의 예방 또는 치료에 있어 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
