PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a method for producing hydrogel, by which the hydrogel being degraded and digested with microorganisms in soils can be produced from a polymer having large water absorbability as a raw material at a low cost.SOLUTION: This method for producing the gel is characterized by adding water to a carboxymethyl carrageenan as a raw material, sufficiently kneading the mixture with a kneader to obtain 15 to 60% of a pasty mixture, vacuum-degasifying, thermally sealing all of the degasified pasty mixture to prevent the lowering of crosslink density, and then irradiating the sealed mixture with &ge20 kGy of ionizing radiations. The gel thus produced can be disposed by recovering the gel after used, and then subjecting the recovered gel to a composting treatment, because of being biodegradable.COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT【課題】土壌中の微生物によって分解および消化され、かつ吸水量の大きな高分子を原料として、ハイドロゲルを安価に製造すること。【解決手段】カルボキシメチルカラギーナンを原料とし、それに水を加えた後、混練器によって十分に混練し、15%から60%のペースト状混合物を得た後、真空脱気を行い、橋かけ密度の低下を抑制するため上記ペースト状混合物全体を熱シールした後、電離性放射線を20kGy以上照射する。このようにして製造されたゲルは、生分解性であるため、使用後回収しコンポスト化処理により処分できる。【選択図】図4
