An active torso support is described. The active torso support may be, for example, an active back brace, and may include one or multiple force applying elements that apply force to localized regions of the torso of a subject. Force applying elements are controlled based upon detection of posture or activity of the subject with a sensor system located at a distance from the active torso support. A signal indicative of posture or activity of the subject is transmitted to the active torso support. In various aspects, the system may include a base station and/or a network of computing devices in communication with the active torso support. Related methods and systems are also described.La présente invention se rapporte à un support de torse actif.
