The present invention is directed to a method of manufacture of an aqueous gel depilatory composition which comprises the following steps: mixture of at least one C10-20 carboxylic acid with a metal hydroxide and water to form a first premix mixture of a crosslinked co-polymer comprising maleic anhydride with water to form a second premix admixture of the first premix to the second premix to form a homogeneous composition and addition of a depilatory compound having a thiol group to the homogeneous composition.La présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication dune composition de type gel aqueux dépilatoire, comprenant les étapes consistant à mélanger au moins un acide carboxylique en C10-C20 avec un hydroxyde métallique et de leau pour obtenir un premier prémélange à mélanger un copolymère réticulé comprenant de lanhydride maléique avec de leau afin dobtenir un second prémélange à mélanger les premier et second prémélanges afin dobtenir une composition homogène et à ajouter un composé dépilatoire comportant un groupe thiol à ladite composition homogène.
