The netting material is doubled over to form a flap (20) at a distance from a longitudinal edge of the netting, the flap comprising at least two layers of the netting material folded together and one or more eyelets (25) in the flap. The flap may be reinforced with an additional strip of material and or by having a higher density at the fold. A central fold may also be included. The netting is suspended by the eyelets to cover and protect a crop.
