The invention relates to a synergistic composition of naturally occurring substances, which is particularly effective in the treatment and prevention of glaucoma. The composition of the invention comprises the synergistic combination of a Crocus sativus extract, forskolin, and one or more additional active ingredients selected from citicoline, rutin, and combinations thereof. The synergistic composition of the present invention is preferably formulated into an oral dosage form, for example in the form of a dietary supplement, or into a topical dosage form, for example in the form of eye drops.
