PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods, compounds, and compositions useful in the treatment of cancer.SOLUTION: Hypoxia-activated prodrugs can be used to treat cancer when administered alone or in combination with one or more anti-neoplastic agents. In one version, the protected anti-neoplastic agent has the chemical formula Hyp-L-N or Hyp-N, where Hyp is a hypoxic activator, L is a linking group, and N is an anti-neoplastic agent.
