A method for using a universal electronic toolset for indicating and adjustingof animplantable programmable bodily fluid drainage valve regardless of whether thevalveincludes a fixed reference magnet used to determine an angle of orientation ofthe implantableprogrammable bodily fluid drainage valve or not. A magnetic field detectionsensor array inan indicator tool of the electronic toolset determines whether the fixedreference magnet ispresent in the implantable programmable bodily fluid drainage valve. If thepresence of thefixed reference magnet is detected then the center and direction of flow ofthe adjustable valveunit is ascertained via electronic feedback from the electronic toolset；otherwise, the centerand direction flow is ascertained via exclusively by manual physical palpationof the valve.
