PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freshness holding device that holds the freshness of food such as vegetable and fruit and a plant such as a flower and a garden tree for a long period of time.SOLUTION: A freshness holding device comprises a reservation tank 3 for reserving food such as vegetable and fruit and a plant such as a flower and a garden tree a mist generator 1 which generates nanomist and a minus ion in air by the crush of water injected into the air, and supplies the generated nanomist and the minus ion to the reservation tank 3 and a low-temperature chiller 8 for cooling the reservation tank 3 by the circulation of a cooling medium. A low-temperature heat exchanger 57 which circulates the cooling medium after cooling the reservation tank 3 and cools the water for crushing of the mist generator 1 is arranged between the reservation tank 3 and the low-temperature chiller 8.
