A method of producing a product for the administration of nicotine comprising: (a) preparing a first mixture comprising nicotine, a cation exchange resin and water by mixing the constituent components of the first mixture； (b) removing up to 85% by weight of the water contained in the first mixture to form a second mixture having a water content of between 10 and 75% by weight based on the mixture； and (c) combining the second mixture with additional components to produce a product for the administration of nicotine, in which the product for the administration of nicotine is selected from gum containing nicotine, dragees containing nicotine, tablets containing nicotine, tablets that contain nicotine, patches that contain nicotine, inhalers that contain nicotine and nasal sprays that contain nicotine.Un método de producción de un producto para la administración de nicotina que comprende: (a) preparar una primera mezcla que comprende nicotina, una resina de intercambio catiónico y agua mezclando los componentes constituyentes de la primera mezcla； (b) eliminar hasta el 85% en peso del agua contenida en la primera mezcla para formar una segunda mezcla que tiene un contenido en agua de entre el 10 y el 75% en peso basándose en la mezcla； y (c) combinar la segunda mezcla con componentes adicionales para producir un producto para la administración de nicotina, en el que el producto para la administración de nicotina se selecciona de chicles que contienen nicotina, grageas que contienen nicotina, pastillas que contienen nicotina, comprimidos que contienen nicotina, parches que contienen nicotina, inhaladores que contienen nicotina y aerosoles nasales que contienen nicotina.
