A method and system of remotely stimulating the midbrain area is disclosed. Transcranial direct current stimulation is applied via a cathode attached to the right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and an anode attached to the ventromedial prefrontal cortex. These regions are either directly connected or indirectly connected to the midbrain region. The stimulation allows non-invasive stimulation of neurons in the midbrain region to address brain disorders such as Parkinsons disease, schizophrenia, depression and addiction.
