A method of weed control, including sowing seeds in a certain area and the introduction of an aryloxyalkanoate herbicide in a specified area 30 days before sowing seeds in a specified area or within 30 days before the emergence of crop shoots from said seeds sown in a specified area, while said the seeds contain a polynucleotide that encodes an AAD-1 protein having at least 75% identity with the AAD-1 protein encoded by SEQ ID NO: 29.2. The method of claim 1, wherein said herbicide is selected from the group consisting of 2,4-D, 2,4-DB, MCPA, MCPB, and aryloxyphenoxypropionate. The method of claim 1, wherein said method comprises applying a second herbicide to said area. The method of claim 3, wherein said second herbicide is selected from the group consisting of glufosinate, glyphosate, and dicamba. The method of claim 1, wherein said area is a field and said herbicide is applied within 7, 11, 14 or 15 days after sowing said seeds. The method according to claim 1, used to control glyphosate-resistant weeds in the specified area, wherein from said seeds plants are grown that additionally exhibit glyphosate resistance, and the specified method comprises applying an aryloxyalkanoate herbicide over at least a portion of said area.
