This invention relates to a process of replacing formula feeds in a neonatal intensive care unit with donor human milk (DHM): the said process comprises the following steps: (a) Collection of the donor human milk (DHM) from a mother (b) Storing of the donor human milk (DHM) in a container (c) Supplying the DHM to the neonatal intensive care unit and (d) Feeding the DHM to a neonatal within three hours from the time of collection of the DHM. The donor human milk is neither pasteurized nor refrigerated. The donor human milk is used to replace up to at least 75% of formula feeds.
