PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide powdery or encapsulated compositions containing fat-soluble materials to be blended into food products, beverages, animal feeds, cosmetics or pharmaceuticals as additives.SOLUTION: There is provided a preparation method of a composition comprising a) a matrix material forming an outer continuous phase and b) an inner discontinuous phase within the matrix material, the inner discontinuous phase comprising: a fat-soluble physiologically active component； and a physiologically acceptable encapsulating material which is solid at a room temperature and which is homogeneously soluble in an organic solvent together with the fat-soluble physiologically active component. The composition comprises, as the encapsulating material, wax or wax-like material, or beeswax or carnauba wax, and as the matrix material, gelatin, lignosulfonate, milk protein or hydrolyzed milk protein, plant protein or hydrolyzed plant protein, or modified starch.
