Disclosed are an x-ray imaging apparatus which can improve quality of four-dimensional video for a moving object such as heart, and can reduce the amount of radiation exposure patients or doctors receives, and a control method thereof. An embodiment of the x-ray imaging apparatus comprises an x-ray generating part radiating X-ray to a moving object an x-ray detecting part detecting x-ray transmitting the object, and converting into an electrical signal a gantry installed to face the x-ray generating part and the x-ray detecting part, and rotated around a bore a control part rotating the gantry for every period of living body signal of the object, while controlling the gantry for the gantry to be rotated from different starting positions and an image processing part applying compression sensing image restoration algorithm based on an existing video to multiple two-dimensional projection images obtained from the converted electrical signal, and generating four-dimensional image of the object.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015심장과 같이 움직이는 대상체에 대한 4차원 영상의 품질을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 환자나 의료진이 받는 방사선 피폭량을 감소시킬 수 있는 엑스선 촬영 장치 및 그 제어 방법이 개시된다. 엑스선 촬영 장치의 일 실시예는 움직이는 대상체로 엑스선을 조사하는 엑스선 발생부 상기 대상체를 투과한 엑스선을 검출하여 전기적 신호로 변환하는 엑스선 검출부 상기 엑스선 발생부 및 상기 엑스선 검출부가 마주보도록 설치되며, 보어를 중심으로 회전하는 갠트리 상기 대상체의 생체 신호 주기 마다 상기 갠트리를 회전시키되, 상기 생체 신호 주기가 시작될 때마다 상기 갠트리가 서로 다른 시작 위치에서부터 회전되도록 제어하는 제어부 및 상기 변환된 전기적 신호로부터 획득된 복수의 2차원 투영 영상에 기존 영상에 기반한 압축 센싱 영상 복원 알고리즘을 적용하여, 상기 대상체에 대한 4차원 영상을 생성하는 영상 처리부를 포함한다.
