PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave ablation system comprising a microwave generator and a controller connected to a radiometer.SOLUTION: A microwave ablation system 100 incorporates a radiometer 160 that couples to a microwave transmission network connecting a microwave generator 140 to a microwave applicator 110 to measure noise temperature. A controller 150 processes the noise temperature to separate out components of the noise temperature, including the noise temperature of the tissue being treated and the noise temperature of the microwave transmission network.
