The curvatures of the first and second portions have opposite signs. In one example, the first central portion may be rotationally symmetric. In a related example, the first portion has a curvature having a sign opposite to the curvature of a typical cornea, and the curvature of the second portion has the same sign as the sign of the curvature of the cornea.
