Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft lipid- und wasserhaltige Zubereitungen mit einer besonderen Kombination aus nicht ionischen niedrig(poly)ethoxylierten Emulgato- ren mit einer oder mehreren Ether- oder Esterbindungen mit insbesondere 2-, 3- oder 4-wertigen (Poly)Alkoholen einschließlich Sorbitan sowie höher ethoxylierten nicht ionischen Gel- Emulgatoren. Derartige Zubereitungen bilden bei Anwendung auf insbesondere Schleimhäuten in situ „irreversible" (permanent-) Gele aus und weisen insofern ein verbessertes Haft- und Wirkungsspektrum auf. Die erfindungsgemässen Zubereitungen sind daher geeignet für die topische Anwendung auf äusserlich erreichbare, insbesondere befeuchtete Haut, vor allem Schleimhäute bei Mensch und Tier, wie im Mund- und Nasenraum, der Scheide, Harnröhre sowie Analbereich, oder auch die Bindehaut des Auges.
