The device has a drive unit provided for driving an endodontic tool (3). A detection device is provided for detecting two operating parameters of a cordless handpiece (2) and the tool. A control device (5) is connected with an indicator (4) and the detection device, and compares values detected by the detection device with reference values and indicates each operating parameter at the indicator, so that respective operating parameters are reproduced at the indicator while reaching the reference values. An independent claim is also included for a method for indicating operating parameters of a dental treatment device.
