The present invention relates to a telecare system for macular degeneration and a method thereof. The telecare system includes a remote sever and a computer. A web page of a telecare center is built in the remote server. A macular degeneration detection program is arranged on the web page of the telecare center. The computer includes a display screen and an input interface. The computer is linked to the remote server via a network. A user logs in the web page of the telecare center by operating the input interface for executing the macular degeneration detection program, in order to generate at least one test image on the display screen. The user can look at the test image for knowing a detection result of macular degeneration, and the detection result is transmitted to the remote server.
