The present invention provides a method and a device for analyzing face information, which establish a database of generalized facial expression information from a shape and a motion change rate of facial muscles extracted from features of representative facial expression of multiple users, and can provide natural facial expression information synthesis or mental state analysis and compensation based on the database. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the device for analyzing facial information comprises: a facial expression information input part receiving facial expression information input； and a facial expression analysis part analyzing the facial expression information, and classifying and storing the facial expression information for each mental state in the database. The facial expression analysis part obtains a change rate of emotion according to a temporal to spatial change rate of a feature point extracted from the facial expression information, and classifies and stores the facial expression information according to the change rate of emotion.본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 얼굴 정보 분석 장치는, 얼굴 표정 정보가 입력되는 표정 정보 입력부； 및 상기 표정 정보를 분석하여, 심리 상태별 얼굴 표정 정보를 데이터베이스에 분류 저장하는 표정 분석부를 포함하고, 상기 표정 분석부는 상기 표정 정보로부터 추출되는 특징점의 시간 대비 공간적 변화율에 따라, 감정의 변화 속도를 획득하고, 상기 감정의 변화 속도에 따라 상기 표정 정보를 분류 및 저장한다.
