Provided is an imaging device which is capable of observing both the papillary structure and capillaries inside the papillae at the same time by comprising: an illumination unit that projects light onto a skin surface； an imaging unit that images transmitted light reflected inside the skin； a light shielding unit that is placed in tight contact with the skin surface to prevent light reflected from the skin surface from reaching the imaging unit； and a pressing unit, the distal end of which presses the skin surface to flex the epidermis of the skin being imaged.
