The protrusion edge demarcates the manhole cover protrusion (8, 108) from the exterior manhole cover surface (5). A protrusion surface (11, 111) of the manhole cover protrusion (8, 108) is contiguous with and extends from the protrusion edge (9, 109). A protrusion apex (10, 110) of the manhole cover protrusion (8, 108) is contiguous with the protrusion surface (11, 111). A manhole cover vent opening (20, 120) extends through the manhole cover protrusion (8, 108) and the manhole cover (2, 102).
