The present invention relates to a shoe sole sterilizer (100) which provides a UV radiation emitting system for sterilizing microbial pathogens adsorbed on the shoe sole surface. The system includes a housing 111 that includes one or more UV radiation sources 134. The bottom and side portions of the housing 111 are opaque to provide a UV shield when the UV is guided towards the upper housing portion. The upper housing portion has a plurality of holes (104a, 104b) which form a shape approximate to the bottom of two shoe soles. The holes 104a and 104b allow UV radiation to be emitted from the housing to direct the shoe sole surface arranged outside the housing upper side. Each shoe sole approximate area has a pivotable tang 102 that extends from the shoe sole approximate area. The shutter 119 coupled to the inside of the tang 102 enlarges or restricts the UV exposure from the upper surface depending on the size of the sole arranged above.
