The present disclosure relates to the field of medical aid equipment, more particularly, to the structures within an ambulance. The stretcher placement system of the present disclosure has a simple configuration, reduces the time required for securing and/or retrieval of stretchers, can be accessed from outside of an ambulance and is compact. The stretcher placement system comprises: (i) a platform defined by a first panel and a pair of second panels, wherein the pair of second panels extends orthogonally from the first panel in a manner defining a hollow space below an operative bottom surface of the first panel, and (ii) a support assembly which is defined by: a pair of support members arranged in a spaced apart configuration, and a separating wall disposed operatively between and configured to connect the pair of support members.
