On décrit un procédé de traitement de patients souffrant de HAM et de PS, ledit procédé étant caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend une diminution des cellules infectées par le virus HTLV-1 au moyen d'un anticorps anti-récepteur 4 de chémokine CC humaine (CCR4), et un remède correspondant.本発明は、既存の治療薬とは異なる、新しいヒトＴ細胞白血病ウイルス－１関連脊髄症（ＨＡＭ）患者および無症候性ＨＴＬＶ－１キャリアーの治療方法および治療剤を提供することを目的とする。本発明は、抗ヒトＣＣ－ｃｈｅｍｏｋｉｎｅ ｒｅｃｅｐｔｏｒ ４（ＣＣＲ４）抗体を用いてＨＴＬＶ－１ウイルス感染細胞を減少させることを特徴とするヒトＴ細胞白血病ウイルス－１（ＨＴＬＶ－１）関連脊髄症（ＨＡＭ）患者および無症候性ＨＴＬＶ－１キャリアー（ＡＣ）の治療方法および治療剤に関する。
