A human oral care composition, includes safe and effective amounts of thefluoride ion and stabilized chlorinedioxide, that may take the form of a paste, gel, rinse, spray, powder, varnishor similar that reduces demineralization and promotesremineralization of teeth. The method includes the topical application of thecomposition to the human oral cavity (including butnot limited to the teeth, gingiva, and tongue), preferably at least oncedaily, to enhance the anti-caries effect of fluoride by releasedchlorine dioxido compromising any biofilm present.
