A coffin handle 100 comprises a grip portion 20, at least one retaining pin 60 and pivot pin 40. Each retaining pin has an elongate shaft 62 extending through an opening in a coffin and a retention means 69 adapted to be movable from an insertion configuration to a retention configuration, the insertion configuration in which the retention means permits passage of the shaft portion through the opening in the first direction, and the retention configuration in which the retention means prevents movement of the shaft portion through the opening in a second direction opposite to the first direction; and a ring portion 64 extending from an end of the shaft portion. Each pivot pin projects from the grip portion and extends through a ring portion of a retaining pin to permit pivoting of the grip portion about said pivot pin. A kit of parts and method of affixing a coffin handle to a coffin is also disclosed.
