<；P>；PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve quantitative evaluation of depressive states of animals. <；P>；SOLUTION: A stimulus is provided for an animal 200 to be measured with a stimulation bar 13 to detect a load (force) applied to the stimulation bar 13 with a load sensor 14 based on behavior exhibited for the stimulation bar 13 by the animal 200 to be measured. The amount of response of the animal 200 to be measured to the stimulus for the stimulation bar 13 is measured by a measuring/commanding apparatus 30 on the basis of the load (force) detected with the load sensor 14.
