A planting apparatus (100), said planting apparatus comprises; a frame (2) comprising a front end (4) and a rear end (6), as seen in relation to the intended direction of movement; said intended direction of movement defines a longitudinal direction (X) of the apparatus; wherein said frame has an extension in a transverse direction (Y), said transverse direction is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (X); said frame comprises one or more knife holders (8), each of said knife holders has a first end (10) and a second end (12); said one or more knife holders (8) at its first end is pivotally suspended on said frame in a suspension (14); wherein said knife holder at its second end (12) comprises one or more blades (16) adapted to be submerged at least partially inside the earth (18); wherein with respect to one or more of said one or more knife holders (8), said frame comprises means for transporting seeds (20) for transporting seeds inside the ground in a position corresponding to one or more of said one or more blades; wherein with respect to one or more of said one or more knife holders (8), said apparatus comprises a sensor (22) for detecting the position of said knife holder in relation to the frame; said sensor (22) is configured to provide an output signal representing a detected position of said knife holder (8); wherein with respect to one or more of said one or more knife holders said apparatus comprises an actuator (24) for altering the position of the knife holder in relation to the frame; wherein said apparatus comprises a control unit configured to receive said output signal from said sensor; wherein said control unit is configured to provide an output signal to control said actuator; wherein said control unit is connected to an input device (40), said input device is configured to allow an operator to provide said control unit with instruction regarding the desired response of the actuator, based on the input signal of said sensor.Un aparato de s
