The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating Vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) infectious diseases, comprising a Vitisamurensis root extract or a fraction thereof as an active ingredient and a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating VRE infectious diseases using heyneanol A which is separated from the extract or the fraction. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a non-medicinal composition for preventing or improving VRE infectious diseases comprising a Vitisamurensis root extract or a fraction thereof as an active ingredient and to a method for treating VRE infectious diseases of animals including the step of administrating the composition into a VRE infectious disease suspected case other than humans. The composition according to the present invention can be effectively used for preventing, treating or improving the VRE infectious disease.
