Techniques for low impedance detection systems are disclosed herein. The detection system includes an electrical insulator and an impedance measurement device. Impedance measuring devices can be used to measure the impedance of the system when the barrier is placed between the user of the barrier and the power supply. In a defibrillation system, the rescuer may place a barrier on the patient. The power supply can deliver an electric shock to the patient.
