A dispensing container and assembly having the dispensing container and a mated holder are disclosed in the invention. The container comprises a hollow main body for receiving a plurality of probe covers. The main body has an access opening on its one end and a bottom portion on another end opposite to the one end. The access opening is provided for allowing a thermometer probe to access the upmost probe cover. Each probe cover has a free end and a radial flange extending from the periphery of the free end. The main body is a rectangular shape on its transverse section.
