This invention relates to screening assays for identifying agents that modulate inverted formin-2, FH2 and WH2 domain containing protein, isoform 2 (INF2-CAAX) activity or INF2-CAAX-mediated mitochondrial function and use of such agents in the amelioration of a disease associated with mitochondrial dysfunction. The method involves contacting a eukaryotic cell with a test agent wherein the eukaryotic cell includes an INF2-CAAX polypeptide and determining the effect of the test agent on INF2-CAAX activity or INF2-CAAX-mediated mitochondrial function wherein a decrease or increase in INF2-CAAX activity or INF2-CAAX-mediated mitochondrial function compared to INF2-CAAX activity or INF2-CAAX-mediated mitochondrial function in the absence of the test agent indicates that the test agent modulates INF2-CAAX activity or INF2-CAAX-mediated mitochondrial function.Linvention concerne des dosages de criblage pour lidentification dagents qui modulent la protéine contenant le domaine formine 2, FH2 et WH2 inversé, lactivité disoforme 2 (INF2-CAAX) ou la fonction mitochondriale à médiation par INF2-CAAX, et lutilisation de tels agents dans lamélioration dune maladie associée au dysfonctionnement mitochondrial.
