A surgical snare (2) is provided having an operating wire (4) and an outer sheath (6) having a lumen extending therethrough, wherein the operating wire (4) is disposed within the lumen and is longitudinally movable within the lumen. The surgical snare also has a first locking member attached to the operating wire and a second locking member (10) attached to the outer sheath. The first locking member is frictionally engageable with the second locking member (10) by sliding the outer sheath longitudinally along the operating wire until the first locking member contacts the second locking member. The operating wire is prevented from moving longitudinally with respect to the outer sheath when the first locking member is frictionally engaged with the second locking member.L'invention concerne un collet chirurgical (2) possédant un fil de commande (4) et une gaine extérieure (6) au travers de laquelle une lumière s'étend, le fil de commande (4) étant disposé à l'intérieur de la lumière et étant mobile longitudinalement à l'intérieur de la lumière. Le premier élément de verrouillage est en prise par friction avec le second élément de verrouillage (10) par coulissement de la gaine extérieure longitudinalement le long du fil de commande jusqu'à ce que le premier élément de verrouillage entre en contact avec le second élément de verrouillage. Le fil de commande ne peut pas se déplacer longitudinalement par rapport à la gaine extérieure lorsque le premier élément de verrouillage est en prise par friction avec le second élément de verrouillage.
