PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article attaining compatibility between stretchability and absorptivity without using a material taking stretchability into consideration in all of a surface sheet, an absorber, and a back sheet.SOLUTION: A sanitary napkin 1A as an example of the absorbent article is a stretchable article including the surface sheet 2, a stretchable back sheet 3, and a liquid retaining and stretchable absorbing structure 4 which is disposed between the sheets 2 and 3. The sanitary napkin 1A is formed by fixing the stretched back sheet 3 and the non-contracted absorbing structure 4 to each other.
