PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which meets the need of diaper changing even when a small amount of excrement is discharged into the diaper, and which enables a user to easily determine whether the excrement is urine in an anterior part or a loose passage in a dorsal part.SOLUTION: A diaper 1 includes a front-side sheet 2, a back-side sheet 3, and a vertically long absorber 4 arranged between them. An indicator 5 is arranged in a vertically continuous manner between the back-side sheet 3 and the absorber 4. The absorber 4 has an absorbent core 41 containing an absorbent polymer, and a coating material 42 for encasing the absorbent core 41. The absorbent core 41 has convex heavy basis weight parts 43 and concave light basis weight parts 44 adjacent to the heavy basis weight parts 43, and the heavy basis weight parts 43 and the light basis weight parts 44 are integrally molded.
