Calcium fortified protein-containing beverages e.g. mammals or plant milk andprocesses for making them are disclosed. Such beverages are stable, containhigh levels of soluble calcium and are hedonically acceptable. Unlike othercalcium fortified protein-containing beverages, such beverages can be producedusing a process that is similar to that used to produce regular dairy milk.Such beverages can be consumed neat or easily incorporated into other food orbeverage products. The calcium fortified mammals milk contains essentiallyzero weight % of a chelating agent. The calcium fortified plant milk containsessentially zero weight % to 0.01 weight % of a chelating agent.
