An object of the present invention is to provide a coating agent for a pharmaceutical solid preparation, which imparts an unpackaged pharmaceutical solid preparation with excellent barrier properties equivalent to those of a PTP sheet without affecting the disintegration properties of the pharmaceutical solid preparation. Provided is a coating agent for a pharmaceutical solid preparation which comprises a polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight of 950 to 25,000 and a swelling clay, wherein the mass ratio of the polyethylene glycol and the swelling clay is 2:8 to 6:4.본 발명은 무포장 상태의 의약 고형 제제 자체에 PTP 시트와 동등한 뛰어난 가스 배리어성을 부여하면서 또한 의약 고형 제제의 붕괴성에 영향을 끼치지 않는 의약 고형 제제용의 코팅 용제를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 본 발명은 평균 분자량이 950~25000인 폴리에틸렌글리콜과 팽윤성 점토를 포함하고, 폴리에틸렌글리콜과 팽윤성 점토의 질량비가 2:8~6:4인 의약 고형 제제용의 코팅제를 제공한다.
