The present invention relates to the use of at least one (hetero)polyoxometalate for simultaneously imparting antimicrobial properties to a surface of a substrate and reducing the growth of a biofilm on the surface of the substrate. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a substrate comprising a (hetero)polyoxometalate or a mixture of (hetero)polyoxometalates, wherein the substrate is selected from a polymer body, paint, varnish and coating.La présente invention concerne l'utilisation d'au moins un (hétéro)polyoxométalate pour conférer simultanément des propriétés antimicrobiennes à une surface d'un substrat et réduire la croissance d'un biofilm sur la surface du substrat.
