PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a therapeutic agent for preventing and treating complement-associated disorder by blocking C3b.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a development of an antibody that specifically recognizes not natural C3 but a breakdown fragment of C3, which prevents the natural C3 from working as a "sink" of the antibody. More specifically, the present invention relates to a C3b-specific antibody and an antibody fragment, and use thereof in treating a complement-associated disease.
