PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer support device for supporting transfer of a cared person such as a sick person or an elderly person from a bed or the like to a wheelchair or the like. SOLUTION: A transfer support device 1 is configured by a main body portion 1A, a handle 2, and a control bar 3. The upper belt 4 that covers the upper surface of the main body portion 1A is driven by the first gear 6, and the lower belt 9 that covers the lower surface of the main body portion 1A is driven by the second gear 7 that is in contact with the floor. The control bar 3 controls the meshing between the first gear 6 and the second gear 7. When the control bar 3 is inserted, the engagement between the two is released, and even if the transfer assist device 1 is moved by the handle 2, the upper belt 4 does not flow. When the control bar 3 is pulled out and moved by the handle 2, the upper belt 4 flows.
