An enteral feeding device having an improved base adapted to be deployed outside the human body and a tube which is adapted to be deployed within a lumen or cavity of the body by insertion through a stoma from outside the body is disclosed. The base of the device has a recess directly surrounding at least a portion of the proximal end of the tube to permit increase air flow and minimize contact with the tissue immediately surrounding the stoma to facilitate tissue wellness and reduce patient side effects due to moisture build-up, skin irritation and granulation of the stoma tissue.Se describe un dispositivo de alimentación entérica que tiene una base mejorada que se adapta para desplegarse fuera del cuerpo humano y un tubo que se adapta para desplegarse dentro de un diámetro interior o cavidad del cuerpo mediante inserción a través de un estoma desde afuera del cuerpo. La base del dispositivo tiene un hueco que rodea directamente por lo menos una porción del extremo proximal del tubo para permitir el aumento del flujo de aire y reducir al mínimo el contacto con el tejido que rodea directamente el estoma para facilitar el bienestar del tejido y reducir los efectos secundarios en el paciente debido a la acumulación de humedad, irritación de la piel y granulación del tejido del estoma.
