The invention relates to agents containing a folic acid, vitamin B6 andvitamin B12 and to the use thereof in hyperhomocystenemia for controllinghomocysteine levels. The inventive agents are particularly suitable forpreventive and acute treatment of vascular diseases of pregnant women andneurodegenerative diseases and are particularly advantageous in cases ofhyperhomocysteinemia whose treatment with homocysteine level reducing agentscauses secondary effects. Pharmaceutical agents and food supplementscomprising the corresponding active substance combination, agents in the formof commercial packages containing corresponding combination preparations ormonopreparations for a combined application are, in particular, also disclosed.
